Trying to stop thinking of him

Both my ex and I were going through a lot around December, when we were together. I tried to reach out and he broke up with me, explaining that he couldnt help me alongside everything he was going through. I get it, and Im glad he did that, he isnt responsible for my issues. My problem comes in when the wording is pushed as a very temporary ‘at the moment type break up. We became friends pretty immediately, my issues resolved and I tried to help him with his as a friend. The temporary inclination of it was getting really stressful, and I started fretting about whether or not wed get back together almost obsessively. I knew he still had too much on his plate to have that discussion with me, resolve our issues and work out what we want to do in the long run, and I cant push that on him. I decided the best thing to do was to step back while I waited for him to be ready to talk with me about it. I stopped contact with him a few weeks ago, making it clear that he should message me when he was ready. But it hasnt helped, my anxiety is through the roof, and Ive exhausted all the things I usually use to distract myself. Ive vented, cried, everything I can. I just desperately need a clear resolution to this, but all I can do is wait and its so stressful.

Sorry for your torment. Look at the facts-he knows when to find you and knows how to avoid you. Hes selfishly keeping you as a back up. Guaranteed there is more to this that hes hiding.

You should consider giving it some distance.

Good luck. Dont let anyone use you because you deserve better.
