We are trying hard

Hey, it's about my 3yrs relationship with my bf , recently we decided to end our relationship because we were lacking basic things which are crucial in a relationship, but we both have hope that we can do a lot better , we can make things work .. but somewhere we have fear that what if it doesn't work again.. idk I'm lot confused about it as I love him so much and he loves me too .. we really want our relationship to work but don't know what to do ,. Should continue with ending it or giving it again a try .. Plz help
