What is my ex trying to do?

My ex and i broke up end jan this year. But yes, big mistake, we still contacted until 2 weeks ago where i totally cut off because we were really having an unhealthy and toxic relationship which he admitted he's toxic. He has already blocked me on social media and communication platforms. So now, i just joined 2 dating apps and i even put I'm looking for marriage only. And guess what, he's there too and he even liked me on both apps. So what's he trying to do? He blocked me everywhere but is sending this signal? I'm thinking there's no love but he just wants to get back at me, for breaking up with him? Can someone share your opinion or thought? Thank you!
