Why does it hurt
I met this guy December 2020 we were friends for about a month and then started dating it all felt so right but then he uncovered his past and it wasn’t bad at all but lately I’ve been feeling insecure and showing him I don’t trust him and instead of us trying to fix the problem like I want to he breaks up with me.. I don’t know why I’m so sad... I just want to get over him, I need a friend.

I understand how you feel. However, you mentioned that you showed him that you didn't trust him, so perhaps he felt that it was better to break up. It may sound selfish, or disappointing, but it is very difficult for one to uncover their past in front of their partner. Perhaps he hasn't ready, or maybe he just wanted to be accepted for who he is now. It could be any number of reasons. Feel free to reach out if you want to talk :)
