Will I ever find anyone better?

Everyone loves to say that there's "plenty of fish" but I'm deathly afraid that the person I was in love with was the best I'll ever meet. I'm very young and it was my first time properly falling in love and it's very clear to me that we weren't perfect for eachother, not to mention that he lost interest and broke things off with me. Perhaps it is naivety that makes me scared, in fact I'm almost certain it's my lack of experience in the world of relationships but please, if any of you are older, tell me that there's truly more people out there, that I can in fact do better and will find the one for me. I was so so in love and I don't know if I'll be able to feel that intensely for someone again. And I don't know if I'll find someone who truly is right for me.

I really need some reassurance right now.

Thank you if you made it this far...

@trashpandawadhd Sweetie you are making a prediction based on a narrative of fear. Will this serve any purpose to motivate or energize yourself? No one knows the future. We humans are addicted to predicting the worst. I can’t give you a prediction of Prince Charming and happily ever after, but it would comfort you if I did. “Psychics” make their living off folks who want to hear what they want to hear, to counteract that voice in our head that says, “Surely this is the end of my happiness.” So my advice to you is to live as if there IS a prince charming in your future! It’s a much more fun way to live your life!

Thank you so so much. Fixating on that fear of the worst does me no good. Your words bring me comfort and help me ground myself despite the turmoil in my heart. Thank you, truly ❤️

Dear, I understand that it can be frightening to think that the person you loved was the best you'll ever meet. However, please don't let fear hold you back from the possibilities of the future. You are still very young, and there are many people out there who may be an even better match for you. It's natural to feel intense emotions when you fall in love for the first time, but that doesn't mean it's impossible to feel that way again or even more strongly for someone else. In fact, every relationship is unique, and you may find that you have a deeper connection with someone else in the future. It's important to keep an open mind and heart and to continue to grow and learn from your experiences. Every relationship, even the ones that don't work out, teaches you something about yourself and what you're looking for in a partner. So please, don't lose hope. There are plenty of people out there who may be a great match for you, and you'll find the one for you in due time. Take your time to heal, grow, and explore your options. The world is full of possibilities, and you never know what amazing things are waiting for you around the corner. I hope this reassures you, and please don't hesitate to reach out if you need someone to talk to.

It's easy to feel that way and is a completely valid emotion, but please don't add judgement to yourself about it. I don't believe in a single person being out there, just as we all have different paths that can be taken ourselves - there is rarely precision in life. There can be many people out there who make you happy. "Luck is when opportunity meets preparation" - when you're ready, but also don't worry about rushing it. There is luck involved, but hopefully a lot of other things to make you happy in the meantime.
