Working/travelling with ex gf. Awkward Situations?

I have to work with my ex gf coming up this September at university, and as a part of our roles, we have to attend events and conferences together. I can't help but replay the conference from this year in my brain, and then think about how much the conference next year will be so different. The conference sees us as a team doing team related activities and meetings. Am I wrong for getting all worked up about something that is so far away? What can I do to ensure that come that time, I won't care what she gets up to, or who she hangs out with at the conference?
