Working with my ex
I was in a relationship with a guy that lasted for over a year. I thought everything was running smoothly. He was kind, caring and always asks about me morning and night. The only thing he kept saying is that he was not ready financially. So I told him I can wait and I can help. Then I felt he was getting cold days after days and all of a sudden he told me that he thinks our personalities don't match and that it won't work for us. 2 months later, he got engaged. I was heartbroken because he moved on too fast while I was still suffering.
The thing is we work in the same office. 4 months after the news I'm still suffering and he talks about his engagement as if we never had anything going on for us. It kills me slowly everyday really. I'm not sure how I'll move on.
@Hanan001 I'm so sorry you're experiencing this, I understand your situation, and it is hard. What you have to do is to ignore this whole thing, live your life, go out, meet up with your friends, and start dating because if you dont, youll suffer more and more. You deserve better and the right guy is somewhere out there :)
@Hanan001 It's painful when you give someone so much of your time and energy but they don't appreciate you and love you as much as you do them. I'm sorry he treated you that way, lead you on and then moved on to someone else.
It sounds like he took an advantage of how much you cared about him and still has a lot of influence over your life now because you think about him so much at work. Do you think his friendship causes you more pain than joy? What makes you so avoidant from moving on from him? Do you think you may have had self esteem issues that made it easier for him to take advantage before?
The best thing you can do is try to think of how you can give yourself more love throughout this. Just because he doesn't appreciate you doesn't mean that you don't deserve to be appreciated. You getting your paycheck and taking care of your daily needs is very important. In some ways, breaking up with him has been good because now you have the freedom and opportunity to treat yourself more and potentially find someone better...
Youre strong enough to get through this and I hope things get easier. Ultimately its your choice to decide to continue talking to him or not, find a new job or stay... Whatever you do, I wish you can be happy and give yourself credit for how much youre able to give love. Its only fair to give some of that love to yourself.
