Never shared my feelings with her while growing up. Can I be friends with her now that I am 35?

@Schweta

Its never too late to be better.

There is a limited window of opportunity though. So you better get on the bandwagon.

"Only the dead stay the same" is something I remember someone said to me. His point was that once you're gone then it really is all over. As long as you (and in this case, your mother) still breathe, its not too late to do things differently, reconnect and fix things that may need fixing.

Start small, it may be difficult at first if you've not been at it for many years. A phone call and progress from there for example.
