Is there something you wish could have been different in your relationship?
Hi all,
Every relationship has it's ups and downs.. Keeping that in mind, I would like to ask you something that you wish you can bring in to your relationship? Or a way you want things to get better in your relationship?
And once you have jotted it down here, I hope you and your partner bring those things into your relationship soon whether it's more trust, communication or other factors!
Regards,
Abby <3

Well sometimes, when I'm talking, I feel like I'm talking with the wall. He doesn't really understand me and say stuff that will make me more upset or angry. I would change this
@Busranurr You are a strong person.. And I am so sure that your relationship will turn out all well very soon! We are all here for you.. <3
@YourFriendforever
@Busranurr hi there, I know how frustrating that feels. Just want you to know that you deserve to be heard and to feel understood. He should not be saying things that will make you feel worse, he should help you to feel better. If he doesn't understand, is he at least trying ot understand? Have you tried communicating to him how you feel when he does this? I hope that this aspect of your relationship improves! Feel free to message me if you would like to chat about it more! Take care and all the best
I wish I could have realized sooner that wishing things were different from reality is really what makes me most unhappy. When I accept my partner for the way they are, and myself for the way I am, and our relationship for the way it is, I feel happy. It doesn't mean I stop working to change things or improve my own communication skills or work on my own unhelpful habits, but it does mean that when I'm in an accepting place, I'm not wasting time wishing in one hand and you-know-whatting in the other! When I accept things the way they are, more improvements happen, faster, and more successfully... and my partner is happier with the relationship and me, also.
@Integral That was such a good way of explaining the whole thing! I would agree that accepting things the way provides scope for improvements to happen faster ..
That is very wise of you to say! Acceptance, whether it brings you closer to your partner, or helps you both to realize that it is not working - acceptance really is the key to happiness! Nice post!
@YourFriendforever
More communication.
Unfortunetly I have massive anxiety, so I struggle to call him. Doesn't help he isn't very vocal about his feelings, so is hard to understand where he is (if he's anxious, happy, sad, etc, since he hides it).
@Booklover95 I understand what you are talking about maybe... I know it must be tough but I also know that things would be fine soon. Just remember if you ever want to talk about anything, we are all here for you!
@Booklover95 communication is so important in a relationship. It sounds to me like because he is not vocal about how he feels, you spend a lot of time in the dark not knowing what is going on or how to act/react. Anxiety makes everything that much more difficult, I know that it takes a lot out of you but I do hope that in time you find ways to communicate with one another and to support one another. If you need external help, don't hesitate to talk to someone. I am always here if you would like to chat more feel free to message me. Take care and all the best!
I wish I wouldve been more apt to knowing what I know now about more subtle signs of abuse in relationships.
Im out of that one now, and Im much healthier because of it.
@PinkFloyd65 I am glad you are out of it and you are healthier! I wish you all the best for all the good things that you deserve in life! <3
@PinkFloyd65 just wanted to say that you are incredibly strong and courageous for getting through that. So glad to hear you are healthier and happier now! xo
I wish I hadn't rushed into my marriage and that we had gotten to know each other better first.
I wish I wish so many things had been different in my relationship. I wish he had gotten help for his addiction(not drugs). I wish I had been more vocal about how unhappy I was. I wish I had left first. I wish he had listened. I wish I could turn back the clock.
@Trying2018 You realize things and that's important.. As I always say accepting the reality is important than believing something that's not the reality. Relationships are not always fairytale.. I am so proud of you that you are so strong a person. I know you wish a lot of things that could have been different, but am also sure everything will be fine sooner. We are here for you. *hugs*
@YourFriendforever we are currently separated and were both thinking about me moving back in but hes also telling me he doesnt want to be my husband anymore and he hates me, I disgust him. All sorts of very hurtful things. Im just not sure which way is forward when it comes to him anymore.
@YourFriendforever My boyfriend has brittle diabetes. It has led to several different problems including glaucoma and ED. I wish, wish, WISH that his ideas of loving would open up just a bit because I really, really miss it.
