Preparation For Married Life
Before entering married life, the adolescent student must learn to purify the senses and emotions and get a taste of the finer sentiments so that he or she will be able to live the life of a householder with sufficient control and in good taste. The basic control over the main emotions, especially the less desirable ones, should be the main objective.
During adolescence, the emotions are at their peak, so it is the most essential time to learn to deal with the emotions.
Married Life
The household period of the married life requires the further development of emotion-mastery; at a time of life when the strongest attachments must be faced toward wife or husband, children, name, fame, possessions, and responsibilities.
How to Deal with Attachment
The one who has renounced the world (in old age, especially) rejects the illusions of life (the things that are temporary, such as material possessions and mortal relations) and searches for the truth inside: That which is never changing.
But for married life, the choice lies in embracing the illusion without delusion, freely and consciously enjoying the game of life, leela. (i.e., you participate in the game of life but with a sense of detachment).

I think Marriage surely is a new time, a new chapter altogether in anybody's life. And yes, before we can do well in a new chapter, we need the preparations of the previous chapters. Knowing what feelings and sensations are meaningful, what to keep and give importance to, and what not to keep and try to overcome, is an important knowledge.

An elder brother of my friend recently got married.
We guys caught up a couple of weeks ago and when i enquired how his marriage was coming along, this is what he told me -
You can either be single and miserable or you can get married and hope you were dead.

@Tanuj That is a widespread joke.. Even being alone is misery, and being married is just a different kind of misery..Hope for some of us it is and it will be different.

We can practice it. Go and make people happy, talk with them, feel their pain, work with them, spend good time with someone, but after all of it 'let it go'.
People might come and go, it is the love in you which stays, and which showers on those who come in your life.
@Fristo Beautiful, thank you! Yes, I often avoid going out in the world and interacting with people because it overwhelms me and then I feel like I need a lot of space to purify myself of other peoples' energies.
@EverythingsOkay17 It makes a lot of sense to me. I do the same. We need to be away, to recharge and realise ourselves, and then we can be out to share our love. : )
