I’m worried my partner has undiagnosed Asperger’s. He doesn’t understand has to act or speak in different social situations and blames others if they get upset over his behavior. He’s a person that prefers full honesty, but there are just some common sense ways to act or things to not say in different situations. I’ve tried speaking to him about it, but he thinks I’m trying to control him when I’m trying to help him understand he is upsetting people consistently.

@CassieS

Hi, Cassie. It's hard to talk to people about problems that are not yet diagnosed. People sometimes get very defensive when the conversation is aimed at them. Have you tried to talk about you and your needs with regard to the relationship? If your partner feels like you are asking for help, rather than feeling like you think there is something wrong with him, the message may be more easily shared between the two of you.
