Dealing with rejection
I have been in this so called relationship for a year now and I have felt nothing but rejected the whole year. Any time I try to kiss, cuddle, initiate sex, try to have date nights it's always a no. I can't take the rejection anymore and I know I need to leave but my codependency problems make it so hard. I am so afraid that no one will ever love me the way I need them to. What if everyone is going to treat me the way this guy does? I used to take the rejection with a grain of salt, but after like 10th time it starts to hurt your feelings and you start to feel like the problem is you.
Hi @Cassafrass688 it seems like you are frustrated with the constant rejection from your partner.
Rejection can hurt one's ego and take its toll on the individual's mental health over time. It sounds like you are at breaking point and unfortunately this can be very unpleasant.
If you feel more unhappy than happy in the relationship then it's time to leave. I understand it may be scary as you're used tl your partner however your happiness and mental wellbeing should be your number one priority.
As someone who struggles with pessimistic thoughts about myself, I can understand hoe it feels like no one else will ever want you or love you. However realistically, there is more than 7 billion other people and its impossible that not even one of them would love you. You are amazing and just because your current boyfriend rejects and hurts your ego, it doesn't change the fact that you're truly incredible.
I wish you well, do not hesitate to contact me or other listeners:)
Hi @Cassafrass688.
I am in the exact same situation as you. Only I have been with my boyfriend for 3 years. I'm only saying this because I don't want you to end up stuck like me.
Trust me, it does not get better. You need to leave now while you have no commitment to him. You will feel like shit day in and day out and you will end up focussing on the dates when you had your last kiss, cuddle, sex etc so you can pinpoint exactly how long it's been and put yourself in more of a hole than you already are.
You need to get out of that relationship because it does not get better. Guys do not change. You need to leave.
