Did I do the right thing?
So I met this girl overseas while on vacation in January and I found out she was from the same country I am in. The only problem is that she is 1500km away. Even though that was the case I gave her my number and we have been talking everyday since. During this period I fell for her and contemplated asking her if she wanted to try a long distance relationship. But I decided that it wouldn't be fair on her or I as we are both students, I'm 3rd year and she is 1st year. Today I found out she recently got a boyfriend and it felt like someone ripped my heart out. Did I do the right thing not telling her how I felt?

You ask if what you did was right - I don't think that there is an answer like yes or no for it. You did your best - the best action you could do in this moment. So there's no point in blaming yourself because of it now. You can't change it anyway. I know that it hurts to realize that but I hope that it can also give you some relief. Pain passes and you're not alone!
