Help with anxieties

I’ve been in a relationship for about 5 years. There’s never been any issues and I truly love my partner. Recently I’ve developed some anxiety about cheating. There’s never been any issues in this relationship regarding that and my partner is the most trustworthy person out there. It’s very counterintuitive but this anxiety is starting to affect me and how I interact with my partner when they what to do something with their friends (bar, night club, big trips). I don’t want to be controlling because that’s not how we operate in our relationship. I’m tired of letting the anxiety control my thoughts and emotions and how I interact. I want my partner to be able to experience everything without me doing this to them because it’s not fair. I truly love them and want to overcome this but I don’t know where to start. I know that they would never do anything like that to hurt me but I can’t seem to shake the worry and anxiety. We do not live together but spend multiple days a week together and are in a physical relationship as well. I know nothing will happens but my fears are leading to more problems that never even needed to happen in the first place.

Hello friend,

I understand you, but I think that what you are experiencing is normal, I mean, where is love there is jealousy, you can’t truly love somebody and at the same time not be afraid of losing them or making you not want them anymore. What you described sounds like a healhy relationship and my advice to you is to be open about it, explain your anxiety to your partner, start it as a calm conversation, explain your feeling as much as you can and show love, just make sure that your partner doesn’t feel attacked and it will be fine. Hope you feel a little bit calmer, love yourself.

Take care
