How do I change?

Hello,

I need help understanding how I feel. I have been married for six years and recently have begun to realize that I resent my husband for cheating on me and for never feeling like he is there for me. It took me awhile to realize, and when I did (a couple months ago) I took things slow trying to explain how I felt without making him feel unloved, but then I kept feeling like unloved and alone. He did change and continually is an amazing man, but the feelings from the past have made me not look at him the same. In the past two days we haven't been sleeping in the same bed, since I told him I might want a divorce. It was a shock to him since he knew I was unhappy but thought it was depression or something I needed to work on. Ever since we have been talking things through and I do love him, and I keep telling him that I would work in on things but honestly I feel calm thinking about never sleeping with him again or being alone. Looking into the future I don't see him there anymore, and it doesn't make me sad, it actually excites me. On the other hand I don't want to just leave him because I do love him and he is a great guy. So I guess I was just wondering if there's a way to know when it's over? Or is there a way to change how I feel? Because I do love him, I just don't want to be with him.

I am so sorry that you are feeling a constant sense of being conflicted about things, but I completely understand why this is so hard. I am not sure there are any cut and dry ways to really know what is best, but I wanted to share an article that might give you a little more insight into the signs that a relationship that is not salvageable.
