How can I continue to be the best partner I can be, in a long-term relationship? How do I overcome the fear of being left for no reason?

Hello, Nicole smiley

I guess you're looking for some advice, so I'll give my two cents. I also have a fear of abandonment after a very sad and traumatic breakup, so I understand how difficult it is. The thing I've realized is, nothing in life is certain. People fall in and out of love everyday. Sometimes events that we cannot control inevitably affects our relationship. Sometimes feelings change, people change. That's life and part of why it's so beautiful. Change, uncertainty, and taking risks can be beautiful if we allow it. Of course a breakup is usually not beautiful, but sometimes we have to ride the wind to see what else life has in store. It's like the old saying, "when one door closes, another opens." We have to trust that the people who walk into our lives are meant to for a reason, the ones that leave weren't meant for us and the ones that never leave show you loyalty and love. Would you rather stay safe and be alone or would you rather take that chance for happiness? I've made my decision and I hope you decide what is best for you too.

I'll leave you with a poem to read that I found online awhile back. I think it's quite relevant. Take care and good luck! heartxx

You Are Not Everyone's Cup Of Tea :

The world is filled with people who, no matter what you do, no matter what you try, will simply not like you. But the world is also filled with those who will love you fiercely. The ones who love you they are Your People. Dont waste your finite time and heart trying to convince the people who arent your people that you have value. They will miss it completely. They wont buy what you are selling. Dont try to convince them to walk your path with you because you will only waste your time and your emotional good health. You are not for them and they are not for you. You are not their cup of tea and they are not yours. Politely wave them along and you move away as well. Seek to share your path with those who recognize and appreciate your gifts, who you are. Be who you are. You are not everyones cup of tea and that is OK.
