How does a relationship with a sibling differ from one with a parent or friend?
I think it can differ because they are a bit more closer in age to you
What is the most important element of a sibling relationship?
I'd say the ability to get along with one another
How do you think age gaps and who's older/younger affect a sibling relationships?
Based on what I've heard, the older siblings tend to be more protective, while the younger siblings tend to have more freedom. I think age gaps can greatly affect sibling relationships, as usually the wider is the less they tend to talk
Do you think sibling relationships are affected by the number of siblings and why?
A bit, because there's more than one person with a similar relationship
How does distance between siblings impact their relationship?
It definitely can and affect how often they talk or interact with each other
How do sibling relationships change and what changes them?
Through family changes, such as divorce, marriage, and other similar events. It could change for better or for worse depending on how it was originally
What are your favorite ways to connect with your sibling?
My sister loves cosemetics, so it's fun to have her do my hair and make-up or go shopping with her at the mall
How do sibling relationships impact a person compared to those without siblings?
Different experiences, a person who's an only child may have had more attention from their parents

While those both can affect a relationship, I'd say age could affect it the most

I agree with you on your age point. My brother is 5 years older than me and my sister is 7 years older. In contrast, my friends are mostly my age and my parents are 46 and 38 years older than me.
Getting along with each other is certainly an important element. Often you live in the same house as your siblings so you have to learn to get along.
I understand what you mean about age gaps. There was a time I barely spoke to my siblings because I was still a child and they were both off being old teenagers doing exams.
Family changes can definitely affect relationships. Would you say that a relationship with a half or step sibling would be different to a full birth sibling?
I think it's lovely your sister and you are able to bond over cosmetics.
The only children I know do tend to have closer relationships with their parents so I would agree with you.
They certainly are a lovely thing to develop.
