Still single...?
I've been single my whole life, I actively go out and meet people but I always get screwed over, stop talking for no reason or many other strange scenarios leaving me confused and alone. With many friends entering and leaving relationships all around me I can't help but wonder what I've been doing wrong for all these years that I can't even get 1 relationship to last more than a few dates.
Any advice would be helpful

I feel your pain, and I can relate to what you're going through. I'd congradulate you on making it as far as you did compared to me, who's only first hand experience with relationships is rejections. With that out of the way, be natural. I've been a listener for several of my female friends, who happen to make up the majority of my friends, and one thing I've found in common is that the guys they are with love them for them. When they are with the guys they like, they may feel excited, or nervous, or jittery or whatever, but the point of that is that regardless of everything else they feel, being with their date feels right. What it really comes down to is finding the right guy for you. Relationships are hit and miss, and there are different kinds or relationships. Just try to find what feels right to you, and what works for you. Then, look for a guy who feels right. Don't worry if you feel he's out of your league. If you never ask, you'll never know. But when you find the right guy, you will know, and being single won't be a problem anymore.

Hi there!
Thanks for posting in the forums today, sharing you feeling with us all, and I'd like to start by saying I don't think there is anything wrong with being single. Now, I can understand how hard it must feel to have your friends moving on around you, but are they really moving forward! Or just taking side steps?
Relationships can be hard to find, and in reality, you will probably have a few experiences before you settle, that's not to say you are doing anything wrong, it means that you are exploring what it is you are actually looking for in a relationship, what you want and what you don't want, use this time to define your expectations, enjoy time getting to know you and find out you want, because one day, one day you will meet someone for you, someone who will love you for you. Someone who will think you are precious and amazing, and have chose you because they want you for their future.
Please don't fret love, you are a beautiful person, your someone special will come along, when the time is right, when it's meant for you.
I wish you all the happiness in the world sweetie

Hey, Missippisound, I hope you will take to heart some of what I share, because I am greatly your senior, and have been single my entire life. I always hoped to find someone to love for a lifetime...to marry, have children with, grow old with, etc. But that is not the way my life unfolded. I trust God with my life, so I have to keep trusting He knows what is best for me.
Ironically, in my 40's I decoded since my dating life wasn't very "lively," I'd try a popular online dating site. I had some great professional pictures taken for my profile, and actually got a large number of responses. And so many guys asked me initially the same (annoying) question, "What's wrong with you? You are 40-something and have NEVER been married? "What's wrong with you❓❓❓
And, being the intelligent, logical woman I am, I could think of only one way to respond to these men, most of whom had been married...and divorced two or more times. I simply stated that, "Maybe there's something RIGHT about me because I didn't marry the wrong person, or get married for the wrong reasons!"
Missippisound, I understand how lonely and frustrating it can be to see so many couples EVERYwhere you go, and be a bridesmaid, but never get even close to a long-term relationship. I live it still. But, I'm happy I never "settled" just to have a relationship..a boyfriend/partner/lover/husband. There are a lot worse things than being single, or alone on a Friday or Saturday night. And that would be...being coupled with someone your are not compatible with, or meant to be with.
I finally in my early 30's stopped racking my brain trying to come up what my "cardinal fault" was, and stopped trying to appeal to the vast preferences of men...and I started living my life. I lived my life fully, and passionately...I did (& still do) a lot of volunteer work with causes I feel passionate about (social justice, children with special needs, and issues relating to abuse of children, women, and the elderly).
Missippisound, you asked for advice, so my advice for you is to involve yourself, your heart, your energy, and your free time in causes that matter to you...and in the process, they will allow you to REALLY matter to others. Godspeed 2 U!
@caterpillargirl you're inspiring. Thank you for your beautiful words.
