Hi, recently I have found myself to be very codependent on my boyfriend. He is a hardworking guy who sets a lot of goals for himself so he is very busy. I of course support him but sometimes I feel very lonely and it makes me need constant reassurance. I find myself relying on him for happiness and when he’s not able to be around me i become depressed and i let it ruin my entire day. I realized that i dont consider my own time and i make sure im free when i know he will be free. all I worry about is making sure we can spend time together. I really want to work on becoming independent and not letting this weigh down on me so much. besides me being so codependent our relationship is healthy. can anyone relate?? any tips or advice??

I can fully relate. It’s painful that we let our partner become our world and our sole source of happiness relies on that person. I’ve been there, done that, and still catch myself doing that. Although I can’t give you concrete advice on this, I can sympathize and say “I’ve been there” and I wish I had a solution but I think a trained therapist would better help you out with this. I hope you can see that he loves you even when he doesn’t tell you and that you can reassure yourself of that too. I know it’s hard, but it’s something we all deal with and it shows you are such a loving and caring person. But you need to protect your heart and learn to cope with this for sure! Please know that we are here for you and are here to support you fully on your journey! :)
