Im scared that I might be bread crumbed currently. He hits me up only when he is not sober. We don’t have sex or anything but I just feel he only hits me up to fill his void of being lonely and doesn’t really wanna hang out just to hang out and get to know me on a deeper level. I’m confused and I want to say yes when he asks but I also want to confirm that he is being sinceré and not using me. I really like this guy. And I’ve liked him for years. And I am afraid that he is using my feelings for his own advantages. He does know how I feel. And my feelings are very obvious. I suck at lieing or hiding feelings.

As a guy who has been in his exact position, it probably would be worth talking about it to him. I had a really good friend, let's call her J. She had obvious feelings for me that were not reciprocated by me but i did enjoy her company. I did have other things going on, I do enjoy being alone a lot, but she was on a small list of people I'd make plans with if I was lonely, if my gf (at the time) and I were having problems, if I wanted to feel heard. I did not consciously 'use' her but she may very well have felt the way you feel. Wondering if I was only hanging out with her not to feel lonely. But the truth is that that's why we have friends in the first place! If he is hanging out with you, he may be distracted with other things going on in his life, but I'm willing to bet he genuinely enjoys your company. He could also be afraid if he allows more depth and intimacy that your feelings will grow and his will stay platonic, which would probably suck for both people. Overall, you also have romantic feelings for this guy which keeps you saying yes. Ask yourself if his company would be worth it if you did not have feelings for him. J and I had a closer friendship eventually but her feelings build up for me to the point where it was too hard to be her friend so we just ended up growing apart. Friends is better. Feelings are okay, but it's healthy to manage your expectations, otherwise you may be headed for the same fate as me and J.

I understand. I did bring up if he was bread crumbing and he said no. But I have been distant with him because I don’t wanna build feelings if he isn’t on the same page. Our friendship is strong and I would say yes it would be worth it because he reminds me how unique I am and he is super kind. He also has issues he is going through and I want to be there in support. I don’t wanna just be there because of my romantic feelings. I want to be there as a friend if he needs me. Which I’ve always showed up. He did want me to hang out last night. But not sure if he was drunk. I did tell him today I can after work but all he said was “heyy goodMorning” and I replied with “hi” so we will see. But either way I’ll be fine if we don’t and accept it. I’m trying not to have high expectations because I am left with disappointment. So going with the flow is what I am learning to do rn. Thanks for your thoughts. You are great!

It sounds like you have a handle on the situation and your attitude is uncertain but healthy because as long as you can accept the outcome for whatever it may be, there's no reason to hold back. Might as well embrace each other for who you are. I hope things go well for you!!
