Can you fall for your friend twice?

I met this amazing guy last year.

He is really kind and polite. He makes me happy.

He also never cross the line or making me uncomfortable.

We used to travel a lot, playing games together until midnight, stayover (not doing anything sexual), etc. He would come to my place randomly at night for midnight stroll.

Our friendship has been great but 3 months ago I developed feelings for him.

However he’s being distant, we didn’t meet much. He did come and gives me flower last week (my birthday).

He rarely asked me to hangout. His chat reply getting slower and slower. I thought it was because of his work.

But yesterday he told me that it maybe because he used to have feelings for me. I drunkcalled him once and he misunderstood it as me wanting my ex back. Since then he got hurt and his feelings towards me faded away. I did confirm with him yesterday that it was all misunderstanding. yet since feelings is now gone, he’s setting boundaries. He want us to be friends.

I am really sad the fact that I blown up my chance with such a great guy and can’t help but being sad.

I told him I’m going to distant myself for awhile and he understand. We both don’t want to lose each other yet knowing we couldn’t be something more hurts me a lot.

Is it possible for a friend who stops liking you romantically, be attracted to you again?
