Clearing the air

Me and my ex broke up a month ago because he cheated. I said some things that were out of line and as much as I don’t like a cheater I don’t want to end our relationship on bad terms I want to talk with him again to end it on good terms, but I also do not want to talk to him because I know he is irritated at me or probably even mad at me. I considered just texting him to make it easier on myself as well.
