Confused by mixed signals

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some advice on how to handle a confusing dating situation.

I recently met a guy who was sweet, flirty, and complimentary. We met a couple of times a few years ago and then it fizzled out. Now we matched again on a dating app and he contacted me on WhatsApp straight away.

This time, we spent two nights together—the first night was great, we made out and I slept over at his place. The second was also nice and we ended up having sex. Afterwards, the overall vibe felt different and a little platonic. We slept far away from eachother without any touch and the goodbye in the morning was a few pecks on the lips.

I was disappointed and expected to never hear from him again.

The next day he texted me and actively suggested we go out to a bar together this week. I texted him back agreeing to the plan and letting him know my availability. Since then, it's been three days and there has been no reply.

I’m really torn on what to do next and would love some perspective on these two options:

1. Do I give him the benefit of the doubt? Part of me wants to believe he’s just busy or caught up with work, and that I should reach out one more time to check in.

2. Do I just leave it? The other part of me feels like since he initiated the plan, the ball is in his court, and a total lack of communication for three days is an answer in itself.

Why would someone actively suggest concrete future plans only to go silent when accepted? Have you experienced this, and what would you do in my shoes—give him the benefit of the doubt, or leave it alone?

I feel for you, this sounds confusing, hot/cold, eager-aloof....

On one hand, yes it's understandable people have busy lives and he could have deleted your number by mistake...

On the other hand, there's very lil excuse not to text or call.. I know ghosting seems to occur within a few days, so it's hard to judge.

I guess if it was me, I would probably give it a few more days and then see how I felt then, usually I'm annoyed by it.

I'm very conscious of people playing games, excited, chasing and then disappearing.. I hope you get answers or at least can distract yourself for the moment :)
