Dating a recently divorced 40 year old man
Hello! I’ve started dating a recently divorced man. He’s a great guy . He’s very ambitious, caring, affectionate and makes time to see me weekly or whenever i need him. He’s still in the healing faze and is open to taking counseling. He has also indicated that i am contributing to his healing. And wouldn’t want to lose me. I really like him and is already emotionally invested! We’ve started having sex and i fear i might be a rebound no matter how he tries to assert me that i am not. Additionally, he’s not ready to commit as yet. Which is expected. Should I continue being supportive to him and explore a potential relationship in the future or should I walk away.
I think that when he tells you you’re not a rebound, he’s probably telling the truth. Whether he’s aware of it or not, though, there’s still a possibility you might be. Rebounds don’t always mean that your only function is to help them get over their ex, though. I know plenty of people who have jumped into new relationships quickly and their feelings for their new partners are still strong and true. I don’t think there’s any reason to stop seeing him if you see a future with him.
Thank you! 🥰 I am going through with it. Leaving it up to the universe. I genuinely like him. And i do believe he feels the same way. We share similar values and so selflessly tries to heal each others wounds and be of comfort. I am as supportive to him as he is with me and I have seen growth in myself since he has become a part of my life. This is all new to me and I’m scared. And even more so, he is a gentleman after my heart.
I also think that you should give him more time and keep dating him, especially if you really like each other and you see the future with him. I should say, it might be a little bit more complicated to date a divorced person. My mom met a good man on the Flirt site. To be honest, I was skeptical about that at first and I even thought "is flirt legit? who does my mom will date?" etc. Anyway, they are together now, and I'm happy for them. But they both were divorced and faced some issues due to this, but time passed and they realized that life goes on and there s no need to think about the past.
