Feeling Less Than I Used To
Hello! I'm posting this to see if I can get help to tackle this issue I am currently having with someone I started talking to a month ago, someone I want to pursue a relationship with.
We met Oct. 29th, everything has been going great getting to know each other with some ups and downs of course. However, over the past two days I've been struggling with this feeling that I don't like/love him enough. I have a severe anxious attachment style so naturally I am supposed to be clingy, overly emotional, etc. During these past two days I've seemed to come out of that a little bit, and my emotions have settled to the point where I just feel a lot less emotions for pretty much everything and for him as well. I'm not sure what this means.
This has happened previously in a relationship but it only lasted like a day and I told my Ex this. He got pretty upset and I think it triggered my fear of abandonment and made my emotions 10x stronger.
There will be times where I snap out of it and be like "this is the guy I want to spend the rest of my life with", but idk what to do.
@Velronic Hi! I hope you are doing well! I'm not sure if this is the case, but there is a thing called Relationship OCD which is a subset of OCD. R-OCD can portray itself as intrusive thoughts that you may not "be with the right person" or you "don't actually like them." I've had it before and it's not easy on you or the relationship. I definitely am not a medical professional, but thought I would share this from my experience! Here is some more information on R-OCD: https://iocdf.org/expert-opinions/relationship-ocd/ I hope this helps! Please don't hesitate to reach out to a Listener at anytime! <3
