Gamer BF
My bf of almost a year I feel the relationship is coming to an end and I don’t want that. But I feel as though I’ve tried to communicate and express how we move forward but quite frankly it feels like he doesn’t even care.
I am currently in Brazil (I live in Tampa) to see my best friend who is dying of cancer. He is very aware of this but on Saturday didn’t contact me for almost 5 hours because he was playing a video game. It was almost 1am in the US and 2am here.
Two weeks ago my friend was told her health was escalating and she had weeks. I waited to hear from him it was almost midnight. I drug and apology out of him for him to do the same thing 2 weeks later. Given the circumstances I just feel the relationship is over. Only someone who doesn’t care about you would go missing 5 hours knowing your half way around the world and your best friend is dying.

I'm really sorry to hear about the difficult situation you're going through. It must be incredibly tough to deal with your best friend's illness and relationship issues at the same time. It sounds like you're feeling hurt and neglected by your boyfriend's actions. Have you had a chance to sit down and talk with him about how his behavior is affecting you and your feelings towards the relationship? Communication can sometimes be challenging, especially when emotions are running high, but it's crucial for both of you to understand each other's perspectives.
When you expressed your concerns to him before, how did he respond? Did he seem to understand the gravity of your situation and your need for support? It might help to have an open and honest conversation about what you both want and need from the relationship moving forward.
Considering the emotional strain you're under, how are you coping with everything? Do you have a support system in place aside from your boyfriend? It's important to take care of yourself during this time.
Lastly, what do you think would help you feel more supported and valued in this relationship? Identifying specific actions or changes can sometimes make it easier to communicate your needs to your partner.

I'm truly sorry for what you're going through right now. Dealing with your best friend's illness while feeling like your partner isn't fully there for you must be incredibly tough. It's clear you've tried to communicate and express your feelings, which shows your commitment to the relationship.
In moments like these, it's crucial to prioritize your own well-being and emotional needs. Remember that it's okay to feel hurt and disappointed, and your feelings are valid. You deserve to be with someone who supports you wholeheartedly, especially during such challenging times.
Whether this relationship continues or not, know that you are strong and resilient. You've shown courage in facing difficult circumstances, and that strength will guide you through whatever comes next. Trust your instincts and take the time you need to care for yourself and your friend.
Reach out to friends and loved ones who can provide comfort and support. You don't have to navigate this alone. Surround yourself with people who lift you up and remind you of your worth.
Above all, trust that you will find clarity and peace in making decisions that are right for you. Stay true to yourself and your needs. You deserve compassion and understanding, both from yourself and from those around you.
I agree with @AmyPondd advice...
@Janelove8 I agree with Pond and Blossom. Have you communicated (I know it should be obvious... but sometimes we're oblivious) this feeling of yours, and how did he react? If the answer is poorly, then you know what to do.
I would like to give you a different perspective. I am a gamer, and when I'm in it, I'm in a different world, and time is nonexistent. Unfortunately, sometimes I do play until 2 am. My husband (who is not a gamer) would notice this and let me know when I spent more time with the game than with him. It's not that I don't love him; it's just that this is my escape from the stresses of the real world. When he tells me this concern, that's my queue to lay off the game for a while and spend more time with him.
I know you'll do what's best for you. Take care, and please send my love and prayers to your friend.
