I got into a relationship about 2 months ago with my girlfriend and we are really happy together and hangout all the time since we go to the same college but recently every time i have had to leave her for small periods of time like going back to sleep in my room alone or going home for thanksgiving break i’ve started breaking down crying. i’ve been in long term relationships before and have never had this problem so i don’t know why it’s happening now but i want to be able to be okay on my own because i know it’s not healthy to be codependent

There can be a healthy balance of codependency and independence. It may require some work but I do believe it’s possible for you . When you are away from her, how do you feel? Do you miss her more when you are apart than together?

I'm struggling with the same issue, we have been together for coming on 7 months, I haven't yet been in a healthy relationship and I'm already in a losing battle with someone that started off as the healthiest safest and just best relationship I've had since I was 12 (with the same person))
