He's stressed and pulling away
Help, he's been going through a lot of stress and as a result I feel him pulling away. Doesn't show as much affection anymore. I don't know if he's still interested in me. It's causing me so much anxiety. I'm tempted to just end things to give myself peace of mind.
@unassumingCake252 There may be a second option that is more hopeful. Let him know you’re there, but also give him space and then let things be what they are. Cutting off the possibility of things getting better might just be you causing your fear to become reality. Anxiety sucks, but it is also part of life and relationships sometimes. Let the feeling be what it is. Feel it in your body. Even say, “I don’t like feeling this way,” Feel it but disconnect it from your thoughts. If you stay with the thoughts the anxiety just gets worse. Or, you can worry about the future over which you have little control, but you’ve been doing that already. If you want to come out of this stronger, no matter if it goes right or wrong, don’t let the anxiety drive your decisions. Can you accurately predict the future? Can you know all the right things to say or do, or not say or not do? Of course not. Your power is accepting what will come of this without harsh judgement. Your power is making it through this. And you just never know, perhaps the pause, the patience to wait and see, the self compassion of acknowledging your feelings but refusing to panic, might put you exactly where you want to be. It’s my hope you see this for yourself. You will be ok. Breath.
