I like my best friend. I need advice.
I met this guy during auditions for a play. We immediately became friends. We both made it in the play so we ended up spending over 40+ hour with each other each week. He has always been there for me and I have always been there for him. He sends me the sweetest messages (only when he responds). He has made me cry happy tears because one of his messages hit my heart. Here’s the problem he has a super strict religion. If I was going to date him I would have to wait 9 more months. I believe he is worth waiting for. Also another problem is he has made it clear he doesn’t want to date.
Its hard when u get feelings for ur friend and they don't feel the same way. I'm in a similar situation, we r close and I fell hard for him. He knows I like him but not how much, he doesn't think of me the same way I think of him. Also he made it clear he doesn't want a relationship. We agreed on that and I'm not ready or looking for a relationship right now but at the same time I really like him. Life right now doesn't work to be together and I don't know if he will ever want me. Sorry I know it's not advice. The only advice I have is give it time and see what happens.
Sadly the best thing you can do is respect his wishes and (if you're both comfortable with it) is to continue being friends.
