It’s me..

I am in the most healthy relationship I have ever been in. No worries of cheating on either side, no serious fights or arguments, encouragement from both sides, etc. I love him so much, and I know he feels the same way. But I am the most self conscious person. To the point where if we go to the gym together and there’s a girl working out that clearly is in good shape and attractive, I get so sad about myself I’m sick to my stomach. Or when he says things like “yeah Meghan Fox is so hot” I get super super sad. Because I know I’m nothing like these people. Yeah yeah I know he loves me for me. But I can’t even go to a social gathering with him when girls are in crop tops or whatever.. looking hot I guess? Without feeling super sad about myself. It’s a legit sadness. Not jealousy or anger, but deep, deep, sadness. What do I do? How do I be that confident girlfriend who doesn’t care if they are surrounded by beautiful women in the room? How do I be confident enough to just be me and not make myself sick? Any advice is appreciated.

@improbablysorry It sounds like that you are really struggling with sadness in the situation that you are in now. This happens as you compare yourself to other women. It doesn't help when he is making those comments, either. And it really affects you that he looks at other women, especially the ones that you feel are more attractive than you. It's hard to be confident when in a relationship like the one you are in because you are constantly reminded that there are women more attractive than you since that he doesn't give you the same desiring attention that he gives them. To raise your confidence, you need to feel good about yourself. It helps not to compare yourself to other women. Finding the beauty in yourself is important.
