I will never get attached again
My boyfriend for 6 years passed away this year, I was lost and no motivation but I have to put my emotions in a box and set aside my own struggles so I could support and be strong for the people around me (family, daughter and friends).
No one really bothered to ask how am I, until I met 1 guy who said that I can be my most vulnerable with him and he will be my strength, I let my guard down and depended on his words because finally for the very first time someone really cared, as I thought.. but when I finally let him in into my chaotic world, he ran away as fast as he could, if only he hold on for a little longer he could have met the better version of me..
So from now on.. never again I will let my guard down and get attached to anyone. It’s really hard to trust people nowadays..
I'm sorry to hear that. Do you regret getting attached to your resting boyfriend?
My condolences. It's so hard to lose a loved one, and it's harder still to feel alone with no support. You need to take time outs to heal and recuperate. Open up to your family (parents, elders, older siblings) and friends about how you feel. You shouldn't have to neglect your feelings for everybody's well being. Your daughter is a little bit different, and yes, you do have to be there for her, especially depending on her age. As for the others, if they are down for you, even if they don't know how to respond exactly, they will be there and comfort you in the ways they feel are right. They will listen to you and offer love. Perhaps one of them can babysit one evening, and you can take yourself on a date or sit on the couch at home and eat ice cream. Get your nails done. To cope is to heal, and to heal is a beautiful thing. Your attachment to the guy that came in was likely because he made you feel heard at a low point in your life. And it doesn't matter why he ran off. What matters is you and your daughter. Perhaps keep a daily notebook of how you're feeling (and maybe even how you interact with others and how they interact with you). Love yourself because you deserve it.
