My lies, his abuse

I don't know what to say or do anymore.

My current boyfriend found out about my sexual past through an ex-friend that I used to have. She dished out unflattering things about me in an attempt to sabotage me. And almost three years later, I guess it worked. I helped. My boyfriend lied to me about who he was, making him out to be someone I didn't trust much initially. So I lied, and didn't tell him about my sexual past and all the abuse I endured.

My current boyfriend has been getting more and more mad at me about it. Ive come clean and he doesnt believe me. I understand my fault but it doesnt seem like there's anything I can do to fix it. Each time I say we should end our relationship because of this, he agrees. But not without becoming abusive with his words, calling me every hurtful name under the sun. And then when I leave, he begs me to come back.

Because I believe he's a good person, he has become my best friend, its hard. Especially because I know I did something wrong. I feel like garbage, and he makes sure that I feel that way when he does.

I just dont know.

Can you seek therapy? There was abuse, now this guy making you feel a certain way. Seems to me you need some help sorting things out. So…are you able to seek therapy?

@ xcoffeeandplants

I feel you.
First, you did not, I repeat, you did not do anything wrong.
Where does it say you should share your past? The answer is, nowhere.
You said he pretended to be someone he is not, that's a major red flag.
You decided to stick around.
And now it seems like he is messing with your mind, abusing you.
A true friend would be kind, gentle, would show understanding.

Rely more and your true self, and less (or better, not at all) on others.
As for your boyfriend, I guess deep down you know what is best for you.

Always, I mean, alwaysl love your self first. Be who you truly are, and if someone doesn't respect that, well than that person just missed out on a beautiful opportunity.

Sending you love and warmth.
