Should I End It With Him
I've been dating this guy for 9 months now. We are in a committed relationship. We met many, many moons ago and our brief encounters throughout the years were just never the right time, until this year.
After we reconnected, we duo'd each other every day until his first time coming to visit me. He then asked me to be his lady a week later, I said yes.
He's absolutely sweet to me, protects me, takes care of me and loves me so much. Whatever I need, whenever I need him, he's there. I do love him very much. We've always had a connection since we first met.
My issue is, he seems to want to change a lot of things that I've had going on in my life. He wants to tell me what I can and can't wear, doesn't want me going to some of my family members house because of where they live, doesn't want me to talk to any of my male friends that I've grew up with practically all my life, doesn't want to travel often and I loveee to travel, doesn't want me to go out at night by myself just to the store. He says, he is suppose to be my new best friend.
This seems a bit controlling and I see red flags. He says he just wants me to be safe, he holds me to a high standard and wants me to be his wife.
Am I tripping, do I need to just adjust to this new man and the new chapter (what he calls it) in my life or let him go?
@blackice71 Adjust to him if you like but I see him wanting to do nothing but isolate you from any friends, family, and life outside of his control. Get out and cut ties while you still can. Not when he has you away from all those you know and trust as he takes away any form of communication you may currently have.
Thank you for your response. It definitely seems like a control issue to me as well.
@blackice71 Best wishes in whatever you decide to do.
@blackice71,
he wants to isolate and control you.
You to be his servant.
Those are huge red flags.
