This guy
I started talking to this guy on and off for going on 3 months now. No sex yet. I really like him. He’s an extrovert and I’m very introverted. He’s asked me to hang out with him and his friends multiple times since first meeting and I’ve declined each time because I have severe social anxiety. I could tell and he’s told me that it has disappointed him. I tried to explain myself but he doesn’t seem to get it and now has not reached out to me in 2 weeks. Did I ruin my chances with him and should I reach out to him? I know he still thinks about me but he’s not reaching out. Side note: This whole no talking thing has happened before after we first met in person. We didn’t talk for like 3 weeks then he finally reached out. We both wondered why the other didn’t call or text lol. Could it be the same situation going on?
Heyy! I’m the type of person that always goes after people, and always take the first step. Truthfully, most of the times it works in my case. Honesty is the most important thing, even in brand new relationships. If you feel this way you’re describing, you should reach out. It can be hard, I know, but maybe you’ll regret if you don’t.
Definitely don’t want to regret it so I’ll give him til over the weekend to reach out and if not I’ll contact him. I’m not playing games, but I honestly just don’t want to annoy him if he is actually just uninterested which I really don’t think is the case. Question you said you usually initiate first, are you a guy or a girl?
@buietlWe live in an age of instant communication. One press of a button, you could be calling someone, texting someone, leaving them a voicemail, email, social media post etc. For most people therefore, if they are always the one initiating contact it will get really frustrating really fast. And yes, they will tend to think if the other person is not initiating within a few days (let alone weeks and months), then that is a modern sign of disinterest.
From the guys perspective - He already took the initiative a few times, and you decline each time. It must feel like rejection of sorts to him. Men don't exactly enjoy that feeling either. So essentially he is probably wondering, "Why do I have to keep going through this with that girl, when every time 1) it's me that has to do the initiating .. 2) She says NO and just rejects me when I go to the trouble to invite her anywhere 3) So what is the point of all of this for me even and why should I keep doing that to myself every few weeks when it seems like a dead end?.. " Hope this helps ~ ^^ CatzInTheCradle
@buietl sorry to hear that
