I’ve been dating this guy for 6 months now and he’s still on dating apps but says it’s just to find friends. I told him it hurts my feelings and he apologized but it doesn’t seem like he wants to change. I told him I wasn’t sure I wanted to continue dating unless he’s my boyfriend but he said that he isn’t sure he’s ready for that because having a “girlfriend” means he’s thinking about his future. I don’t know what to do. (hes 26 and I’m 23)

If I can be honest with you it doesn’t seem like he wants to be with you in a more serious manner that you would like. You already said you told him how you felt but it doesn’t seem like he wants to put in the effort. I would have a serious conversation with him if you truly want to work things out, but if he doesn’t seem to agree then it’s best to let him go. I hope this doesn’t seem too blunt. It’s just not fair for you to stick around and be in a position you don’t like to be able to stay with a person who seems unsure or not serious about you.

It sounds a difficult situation PeachMoon. Essentially, overall generally I agree with Nooploop. It depends where you and he are at and where you both want to go (individually and as a couple). On the upside he has apologised on the downside he continues to do something upsetting to you. It sounds like you do communicate and appear to be honest with each other so I think that's a plus. Maybe he is not ready to settle down or maybe he is concerned about what he believes his responsibilities may be so talking more may help you understand each other better? At the end of the day you need to think about what is best for you, how much time you are willing to invest, what you will compromise on and what is not acceptable to you. I hope you find happiness whatever happens. 🤗
