is it emotional cheating if im lusting after my english teacher if he isnt requiting that attraction? i feel like its a weird grey area and i dont know how to feel about it

Hi, @honkahonka I feel like there is more to this than just you lusting after your English teacher. First of all, it's good that your teacher isn't reciprocating because that would be creepy. However, I understand your circumstance to a certain extent. I had a history teacher in 8th grade that I really liked and sought to get validation from. Then, I never understood why I tried so hard to get him to like me. He was nice and kind, and at my age now, I realized that I unconsciously wanted a father figure. And I'm not saying that you are experiencing the same thing as me, but think about why you are even asking this question. I don't consider it emotional cheating because it's a onesided thing but I think you should consider your actions.

thank you so much for your input :) i do have some past trauma that i believe has led to unhealthy attachments to older men in positions of authority and it has happened many times but this time it feels different and it makes me feel guilty. i cant control how i feel but i wish i didnt feel this way. i love my boyfriend.
