Am I A Bad Friend?
Hi everyone,
I've been having a really hard time lately because a lot of my friends have stopped talking to me.
I know that they are going through hard times right now, and that they are trying to focus on getting better, which is great. But I feel so alone now. I try to send them messages every few weeks just asking how they are, that I'm thinking of them. But I feel scared that I'm annoying them, and that maybe they just want space.
I don't know what to do. How do I be a good friend in this situation? Should I stop messaging them and give them space? I'm scared they'll think I don't care anymore, but it's exhausting to do this and worry about if I'm doing the right thing. I'm struggling too, and being in a one-sided friendship doesn't help much.

It can be really hard to figure out what people need if they dont communicate their needs to you- needs for support or needs for space. Sending a text message to a good friend who is going through some difficult times doesnt sound a bother but rather a god friend letting them know you are there and thinking of them. They have the choice to respond or not. Its not like you are showing up at thier house demanding to be fed. If you send a message a few times and they dont respond then maybe send a message that tells them that you are going to give them space but that you would love to hear back from them when tey have time; so you are not the only one reaching out and wondering what is going on.

I think it's very insightful for you to understand that your friends might need space to focus on their own hardships. That and your concern about whether or not you're supportive enough says that you're a great friend, who's caring and sensitive to your friends' needs. I'm sorry that you're going through a hard time too. Have you tried to tell your friends what you're going through? A good friendship isn't one-sided. Don't be afraid to ask them for help. Your real friends will listen when you need them.
@Aurora67 am very sorry you feel that way, you are ( in my opinion ), not doing anything or bothering them at all, yes they might need space, but on the rates you mentioned, its surely more than fine to do so <3 , if you wish to talk about it you're very welcome to message me, i will respond instantly if am there, if not, ASAP, stay strong <3
@Aurora67 hello there. you're a good friend thinking of them. checking on them. letting them know you are always there for them is a lot. let them do things for themselves. you're not bad letting them do that. enough that you're still their friend so when they are okay and get back to you, you are ready to welcome them again.
