Being ghosted

Hello everyone. This is my first post so I'm not sure what to really say beforehand, but I'm 17 years old and I recently lost connection with my bestfriend of 5 years. We were always "bestfriends" but to be quite honest, she was extremely toxic and she was always so rude. During this whole coronavirus, I've been working almost everyday. She would try to make plans and I always had to cancel because of work. I think me canceling work all the time upset her and we used to talk at least once a day. We haven't spoke in 2 weeks and now she's hanging out with a whole different group. You can outgrow friendships, but it just really hurts because my sister moved back to college around the same time and my ex texted me asking to hang out. Me and him don't have the best past, but he is the only guy I've ever truly loved. He was my first love and he ghosted me out of nowhere. It took a while to get over him, but he said he's changed and he wants me to get to know the real him. I would love to, but all my family members tell me not to and that I'll just get hurt again. I don't know what to do and I would like to know what y'all would do if you were in my situation. Also since I've lost a few of my friends. I promise I'm a nice person.
