Does my friend still like me ?
Okay it started like 3 weeks ago. My teacher told me that my friend needed space and i can only talk to him once a week. well behind my teachers back i went to talk to my friend. the day he found out about it and is making me stay away from him one month. My teacher says he needs space because of schoolwork. I can only wave to him ,i cannot speak to him. When i wave to him he waves back and Rarely he waves first or Nods first. I really just miss talking to him. I was upset and i was told i cannot talk to him.I was in tears and had suicidal throughts. We played cards together and every time i look at the cards i just miss him and just want to cry. But every time i see him i wave and he waves back and i just wish things could go back to the way their were. I am not sure if he still likes me or if we are friends. Please help I feel very hopeless about this and that he won't talk to me again or i won't be able to talk to him again. honestly i don't know what to do anymore. PS today November 3 ,i waved to him and he waved back each time i waved to him. but i am getting this strange thought he is trying to avoid me or something. like this morning ,i saw him and he went the other way around so I met him back on the other side of the room to wave to him and he wave back but kind of walk fast by me but i highed gived him and he did it back. Last block i saw him and he looked over and i waved but not sure but he did not walk by me ,instead he walked on the other side of the hall. i was on one side ,standing waiting for class. Please not sure if i am just seeing things or not
Lol I remember those days in school. Take a look at your post. Where do you find the time to talk about yourself, without mentioning your friend in every sentence? Very seldom. And do not be saddened or upset with the lack of attention. I grew up without friends, and when I hit high school it all ballooned to a good 800 people used to talk to.
A tip, that I learned that made me very sociable through time, was to love myself and the attention I gave myself BEFORE sharing it with others. It's okay to want to socialize and feel accepted and included. But to constantly hunger for it could imply a much bigger problem. A very easily managed problem that I have as well. You are not alone in this.
I read someplace a good self confidence exercise. The "I feel___" exercise. Take a piece of paper and just write out how you feel. And only that. Then once you feel you have written every emotion down, ask yourself why you feel this way.
Share it with your friend. But do not say "I feel this way because of you." The less you pin a situation on others, the more they will begin to notice that you're trying to connect. Take it slow. It is okay to slow down and look at things from a distance.
The problem with young adults and adolescents is that they was everything right now. And a good friendship, and even a relationship, requires taking things very slowly.
Focus on something you love to do. Cleaning. Drawing. Writing. Anything that could put a smile on your face. You said you love cards. Pour your heart into making a huge card house. Just do something to distract yourself.
Obsessing over how others feel daily makes some, and I was horribly guilty of this, look desperate for attention. And alot of people don't like that. However! You can still want, but that energy you use that isn't getting you anywhere, could go to more productive outlets. Like school work. I almost didn't graduate high school over a guy I really liked.
Take it from someone who's been there. There is nothing wrong with you, your people skills are a little rusty. :3
Ok how do I know if my friend likes me what are the signs and what should I look for or how should I look for that
If your friend likes you, look at their body language. If they are relaxed, and have their chest slightly turned to you, it is likely that they are not angry at you. But if they turn their backs to you, avoid eye contact, hunch over, or sound annoyed when you grow near, it is likely that bridge has burnt, and you shouldn't waste your time focusing on them. Remember, growth starts with you. Do things that make you feel good and happy. And those who admire that will be drawn to your Independence and vitality. Good people. People worth your time. I hope this helps.
@Chibara01 Hi it seems like my friend likes me ,well today when he saw he immediately wave to me. then later on he wave back when i wave to him ,he look over a few times at me. then last block ,going to the buses he waved me ,when i waved to him but it seem like he just waited for a sec ,not sure what that was about. then he took off.
Waving is a simple greeting measure. It shouldn't be mistaken for attachment or friendships. And if he waves, talk to him. I am noticing a pattern of you not mentioning that you two physically talk to one another. Try to find common ground other than mere waves.
I don't say this to sound mean, but simply waving, and talking the way you do, makes you sound like you have a crush, and are desperate for attention. Otherwise such minor behaviors would go overlooked or even be rejected. As it is on his end in this case.
Waving is just a greeting gesture. Not an admission to attachment nor friendship. My worst bullies in high school waved to me every single passing period, and I hated them for it. That doesn't !mean they want to try to be my friend. They just wanted to call me over and pick on me. Remember this next time he waves. And be bold and confront him on his behavior if you feel the interactions you two are having aren't going anywhere.
Otherwise drop it and move on. You have school to worry about. Not boys. Not the latest fashion tend. Not the number of people who wave at you every day. School. I almost didn't graduate because I did the exact same thing you're doing. I almost committed suicide over it too. I had to see out therapy and counseling for months to get me back to where I needed to be.
You also need to remember that during your teenage and young adult years, any emotion you are feeling, including love, is actually an overabundance of hormones in your system lying to you. Scientifically, you grow attached to someone, even as a friend, within three months of meeting them. You don't actually love them for real until a whole year has passed.
I know I'm rambling on but please take into consideration when I say that there really are more important things in life than worrying about whether or not a friend waves to you every day.
If someone likes you their pupils dilate and they look like they are trying to suppress a smile for no reason.
Good luck. Hope your friend likes you as more than a friend. You could always take a chance and ask them out on a date. Worse that could happen is they say no. It's happened to me. Take a chance!
