Friends of the opposite sex when in a committed relationship. Whats your opinion
If your husband has a female co worker that he has openly admitted to being attracted to, even admitted to wondering what they looked like naked, they go as far to offer fixing things at their home, buy tires for their car (but as a loan), even find excuses to call them, but they swear this person is just a friend! I say this person is no friend, and the husband is setting his marriage up for failure. Wife has been told she is mistaken, and this person was only a friend. What do you all think?
I think probably the husband has crossed a line in being too honest!
For myself, I would feel very uncomfortable if it were my husband. I like to think I'm fairly easy going, but it would make me very uneasy.
I'm not sure what the solution is, as I wouldn't want to dictate what a partner could or couldn't do, but I couldn't sit back and say nothing.
I definitely feel like a line was crossed and agree with your assessment on the situation.
Theres a line, and its been crossed. Does husband do this with other friends (including guy friends)?
I would be alarmed myself. Especially if he cant go a day without her. Even more so if he says he wont not call or hang out with her.
Sounds like he's seeing her or wants to be and isn't making it much of a secret.. :/ lines were way crossed
In actions this may be a friend, but in his mind things have gone past the friendship line. And if its happeneing in his mind as it appears to be, things are not going as they should and some action should be taken. Sounds like this friendship needs to be dialed down a bit.
I agree with Courtney and the others above. It seems that things have gotten more sexual than it should be.(imagining each other naked etc) And you're definitely on the right when you feel baffled at what you should do, as it is not an easy position to be in, situation-wise and emotional-wise.
Feel free to follow up as well! We're all here to help in any way.
I forgot to edit that when I mean 'you' I meant the wife xD
I was a little abrupt when I posted.
I agree that the lines has been way passed. The couple need to arrange things. Maybe if they were in an open relationship, the wife could agree and do the same things there.
This may not be the best situation but on the up side he isn't hiding anything, that we know of, from his wife. I don't really think our opinions on this should matter since we do not know any of the people involved. In my experience when outsiders start giving advice to people they don't know on situations that they do not have all the facts on, things get out of control.
Yes, though it helps as a reference or an idea. The OP isn't required to take action towards the situation according to what is posted here.
As long as they understand above of what I just wrote (extremely important), I think it's safe to offer an idea when asked for one. What the OP chooses to do with them is in their hands.
