How do you be someone's emotional support if you don't know how?
I have a friend who is very dear to me. Her boyfriend broke up with her, and it absolutely broke her. Not just emotionally, but she'll have to move, seeing as how the rent is too expensive for one person.
I hate seeing her suffer like this. I've done my best to offer support, and yet deep down, I feel like I can't help. I feel like I don't know how to help. I feel helpless.
How do you handle something like this?
@Nick8876 just try to be there for her as best you can there is only so much you can do

Hi there!
Just by beign physically present that can be one of the most helpful things ,try to hang out .The overwhelming feeling of beign alone post breakup is possibly the worst part if you can do something to alleviate that feeling, go for it..
@Nick8876 It's absolutely okay to feel like this. I've faced situations like this before and what I do is remind myself that I'm not an expert psychologist. I shouldn't expect too much from myself. Maybe I can't help my friend in a way I would like to, but what I can do is simply be there for her. Anytime she needs me, I'll be there for her. And sometimes, that can work wonders. :)
