How to apologise for being a bad friend

Hi,

I recently realised that I'm not a very good friend, and although nobody has actually said anything to me, I know that it's because they are too nice to say so. I think I've been taking advantage of our friendship and I believe I should apologise.

Some ways I've been toxic are:

- ignoring one of my friends to talk to a new person

- ignoring my friend in lessons when they try to say something to me

- not really listening to them when we do talk

Advice would be appreciated, about how to say sorry and become a better friend afterwards.

Just thought about it for a moment, would apologising even be the best course of action? I don't want to self victimise myself by being like "oh I'm such a bad friend, sorry"

Dunno what to do

@coinpolice

Just say to them what you wrote here or write it and hand it to them in an I'm sorry card...sometimes the best thing to do is just express like you just did. They will appreciate that for sure...

@zeeebah

Thanks for the advice, it sounds good but I'm just worried that because they're so nice, they'll try to comfort me by saying something like "oh dont worry about it!" and brush it off even if they were hurt (dk if they were, don't want to assume)

@coinpolice but tgat is totally ok and normal, even if they were hurt it is just ok to confort you and accept ypur gesture in one form of another, it a nice way to respond to someone without giving any more importance to the subject...it is a normal human reaction so do not worry😊
