I can't stop believing my friends don't like me.

I've always been shy, and experienced bullying in my last years at school. However, despite pretty bad social anxiety I managed to make some quite close friends at college.

2 months ago I finished the course, and moved away from my friends and back in with my parents. The social anxiety makes it so hard to connect with them now I'm not seeing them every day. I have to psych myself up to send a text and then if I don't get a reply... PANIC and severe depression ensues. And don't even ask about phonecalls. That's just not possible for me right now.

I'm convinced none of them want to speak to me/see me/be friends with me now we don't study together. I'm always the one making the first move, or at least it feels that way. I'm in a catch-22. I don't make any effort and feel isolated. I pluck up the courage to send a text and the anxiety drives me mad.

I don't know what to do.

You are not alone! I do the same thing. I'm completely isolated now and it is all my doing. Just wanted to say that I understand your struggles, anxiety, and depression in this sense.
