I don't have really good friendships.?

I'm a 16 yo girl. I've never had a 'best friend'. I usually listened to them talk -I liked it but I had little to open up about myself abt.

when I form opinions I first see what others say and see which one I would go with /I like/ is more acceptable . does it mean I have low esteem? I used to though but I think I'm a lot better . i think I'm ambivert as I get quiet around loud and confident types but I'm really comfortable and actively talk with some people . let's name her x . now when I meet her I get happy and talk a lot but if I don't meet her for a few days at school I don't feel anything . more like I forget her. I think I'm pretty forgetful .

I keep things light. I dislike strong emotional fights with friends I would probably laugh it off . there are people- friends I want to show affection to but when I see them I can't and just be my normal self.?.. I feel lonely about that ( its just not like me ..I get insecure with people very touchy but sometimes I kinda like being close) I'm really moody too. A lot depends on my mood how I study /behave around classmates/concentrate/ if I feel dead even with my close friends but never open up to them about my problem/s . I feel like she wouldn't really care about mine when I listen to hers really well.

Recently we had a fight with one of our friend about something silly ,but then it bacame serious and I stayed away from it and came up only when things got okay. I didn't really mind her absence . I rarely miss people?

Is that normal

Of course it's normal! Not everybody may feel the way you do, but that makes you original and being original means you're 100% normal (in a good way of course). You sound like you put your friends before you and care about what they have to say before you start to say you're own opinions, and you don't feel the need to be around them all the time and that you can live your life normally without them around even though you enjoy their presence. I don't think anyone truly enjoys fighting with their friends, but they do happen sadly. Most times, people feel that during a fight they need to distance themselves from their friends and come back when everything settles down.

Why do you feel like you can't show affection and be yourself around your friends? It makes sense that there are some times where you feel that you want to be close with someone even though most times you don't want to be touched.

Why do you feel that your friends wouldn't listen to your problems and that they wouldn't care?

I am myself around my friends but the thing is we talk about normal everyday things . nothing much happens in my life so I dont mind that. but when I get sad about something or want to talk about it I never find the opportunity to bring it up and I kind of throw away the stupid problem when I'm with them. .. And I've learnt to deal with my emotions myself . ( I cry pretty often when I'm overwhelmed by emotions and quickly try to get over it)

Maybe its the family / culture I was raised in .I've never been touchy with anyone ..

I do show happy emotions a lot . like if my exam goes well or smth I keep smiling (to myself?)and feel really good . I love talking to people when im happy .

Sad days come by too and I don't know how to express it to people
