I have always struggled with making friends. it wasn't till year 6 I had formed actual friends. once I moved on into high school I found it hard making good friends. I had made close friends with a girl in year 8 but she moved in year 10 which was hard to deal with. since then I have hopped between multiple friends groups and have always found myself not fitting in with anyone. I find that I am the friend who is kept out of the loop and not invited out to hang out or go out. i know this because I see their Instagram posts and snapchat stories n such. I know its only highschool but I don't exactly want to spend my last two years only talking to people online and being apart of casual friendships. it makes me sad because I just feel that I might be a bad person that no one wants to hang out with. all I want is a genuine friendship with the people I hang out with because I do like them I just want them to like me the same.

@Chxrrypicked Heya! I'm sorry to hear that you've always struggled with befriending people and socializing. I can imagine how hard it was for you to form friendship and it took you a while to accomplish that.

I've also been in your shoes where I hopped between groups of people and even though, I've had lots of close friends, it's hard to find someone who's genuine and can be there for you through thick and thin, right?

It's sad to see that there are lots of squads or groups who usually hang out together and plan out fun activities but what's sadder is when they don't invite you over to spend time with them, at least.

It seems like you don't want to rely on online friendship and casual friends. I can understand why because it's still better to have someone in person, right?

What do you think you can do to build deeper connections with the people around you? What are things you'd love to do with your friends?
