Is it hard to have friends?

Growing up I studied in many schools and colleges so I didn't had the chance to make close friends and I was very focused on my studies

But when I finally graduated and got a job I started trying to make friends but didn't work out by the age of 26 I realized that all the people I know have their own groups of friends. It feels like I'm caught up in the middle I know many people but don't have any close friend

My job put me in contact with different people from different places so it's difficult to make friends in work

What can I do!!!

Yes, it is hard to make friends.

But it is a natural part of being human for the vast majority of people.

Thing is, it's quite a commitment. What you are saying is that you are going to give up a bunch of time, and collude with someone's hangups, in order to feel better in yourself because you have a friend. And it works!

I have an idea that people who find it difficult to make friends are over worried about the amount of commitment required. Yes, you have to meet up, but then your friend can be someone who enjoys the same things as you, so really you'll be doing the same stuff but with someone else there. Or eating with someone who has the same interests/politics as you. Those are good ways to break the ice with new people.

My guess is that you will get on best with someone else who finds it difficult to make friends! Then you will end up chatting about the craziness of the world. Or perhaps that's just me.

Go for it, and make mistakes.
