Karmic relationship with best friend

I'm 28 years old and I have a background of depression and ossessive disorder regarding my masculinity which I dealt with really good in the past years. By the way this brings me to attachment to my best friend.

We've been close since high school and I think there's a karmic connection between us (naruto and sasuke kind of way) cause I'm the kind one, into self awareness and he's the pragmatic one into everyday life who doesn't open up. We learn from each other but these differences often bring us to fight and get apart. This happened several times.

Anyway, during my best years after I found out I'm not less than other mens because of my sensible soul I wanted to connect with him in a more intimate way. I know he feels the connection but I think he's scared that a more deep level of intimacy means turning to 'gay'. I thought that too.

I think I need this kind of affection with a male friend beacuse I didn't have it in the past.

There have been many moments of intimacy between us but right now he just pushes me away, especially after he got a girlfriend.

I supported his insecurities and encouraged him to step up for this girl and I was happy for him. Talking about our insecurities and experiences with girls was a significant and bonding part of our relationship. However che repayed by putting me away.

He started to avoid me and disappear. We fought several times when I tried to notice that to him and we bearly come to hands. I felt humiliated for something he said and right now there's no type of connection at all. We see each other only sometimes togheter with our other friends but our one on one relationship is over. His girlfriend is always present, we won't have any men-time anymore not even with our group, not just for me and him.

I think he's scared of me because he can't deal with the deepness of our connection now that he has a girlfriend, but this make me really suffer because I always thought we were meant to be always there for each other, that we would have kept our connection and even open up about our relationships with girls etc.

I feel mesereable and I think he's just escaping from his fears and that's what made me trust that one day he would have been able to understand that it's possibile to have a strong friendship and an important relationship too.

But I really feel taken for granted and it's been years now so I'm tired. I think I shoul move on but when I try I alaways remeber that when we got apart in the past we always found a way to reach up again. I don't know what to do.

Maybe I should just move on and if it's really meant to be he'll figure out. At the same time i think I'm the one in his life meant to open his heart beacuse he's just so only on everyday life, work, girlfriend etc. He just doesn't awaken on a spiritual level and I think that's bad and that I shouldn't give up on him for that. But I'm really sick of the roller coaster.

Let me know if you ever had this kind of tumultuose relationship or what do you think I should do. Thanks.

It's hard to have feelings for someone and not have those feelings reciprocated. It is even harder to know what the right choices are when going through what you describe. Friendship is about mutual support, communication and acceptance. I hope you're able to find those things - if not with this friend, with someone who truly appreciates you for who you are. Take care.
