Making New Friends in Late 20's
I have now acknowledged that I don't have many close friends as I thought I would have. I am in my late 20's and it's diffucult to make new friends when people I know at this age are focused on building their own families or getting married, which I think is great for them and I am happy for them. But now I'm more aware that I don't have anybody close to share things about my life with or someone to talk to. I don't have that close friend I can just talk with. I tried to reach out to some people that I consider my friends, but then found out they ignored my messages. I used whatsapp so it tells me when they read it. I'm not sure how to go about making new friends at this point who can even relate when I am also an awkward and not sociable in person.
@Kailuna oh god. I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I'm in my smack mid 20s. When I was younger I had "friends" or so I thought. They were all party friends. When I stopped partying and decided to get my life on track they all left. I tried making friends in college.. but they stopped talking to me once I got had my child. No one reached out for months.. until one of my "friends" did to vent about her BF, I listened as she let it out until she said "I'm so unhappy and alone, like I'm here talking to YOU of all people!" Sooo yeah.. mainly other people I know all leave me on read. I'm not mean, I don't gossip, I know I can be a great friend if I was just given the opportunity. Idk I feel like a noob now, I just want to delete my socials because no one cares for me on it, but how else will I make friends without being looked at as a weirdo haha
Hello Guys,
First off you are very special people. Being able to convey how you feel is not easy. Growing older doesnt mean you are along, it just means that you are becoming more wiser and understand things a lot better then when you were younger. Meeting new people can at times be a little stressful but at the same time, can be very rewarding when you share that moment together of realizing you have a lot in common. Joing chats, online groups and clubs dealing with the things that you like to do is a great way and a different path to getting this. Just remember there are always people out there that care for you and want to share moments with you.
@FutureNurse1976 thanks so much
