My so-called "bestfriend"

May 23rd, 2017

So my friend just got out of a 2 year relationship and just hoped into another after she got dumped. She got mad at me for telling her that its a bad idea. So a few weeks pass and I don't like this guy and Im pretty sure he's hitting her. I invite her over and she brings him??? Why?? So me and her are laughing and hanging around and I grab her boob (because she is my bestfriend and you have to be a little gay with your best friends) and he looks at me all serious and goes "do that again and ill break your hand off" so I look him dead in the face and do it again. He grabs my arm and yanks me to the ground and starts twisting my wrist, he left bruises on my arm. She didn't do ANYTHING to stop him. And she knows how uncomfortable I am with people I don't know touching me ESPECIALLY guys.. Because of things that happened in the past. She lets him belittle me all the time. But after that I haven't even seen her, she ignores me, makes up excuses not to see me. I just don't know what to do. So many things are going on, plus my only real friend is ignoring me while in going through everything else in my life alone..

@7378836 Hi, I myself have been in an abusive relationship and despite your friend looking and acting like she is doing nothing this is because she can't. Whatever this guy does to you he does a million time worse to her, she is terrified and she is stuck. Once in a relationship like that it's so hard to break away because in your mind you care for these monsters when in fact they have manipulated you into having feelings for them so they can control you. It took me years to realise what was happening to me and even when people told me I didn't see it. Until one day my life was threatened and something in my clicked. All you can do is let her know what you feel is happening and if that if she needs help or needs you your there for her. Yes it's hard on your part as you've lost a close friend but she still really cares for you and will need you after she realises what kind of person she is with. If you ever get really concerned contact her family or a charity or organisation that can help you to help your friend. Best wishes.

When I read this, I was utterly shocked. I am sorry that this boy laid hands on you. I am outraged by this in all ways. I think that you need to talk to your best friend and reevaluate this situation. You can tell if he poses a threat to you or her, and tell her. In my honest opinion, don't like him. You should maybe also have a chat with him...

Best Wishes, Jess
