Need advice about my best friend and I breaking up.
Hello, could you give me an objective opinion about me And my best friend? We are both females who have been best friends since university for around 5 years now.
So me and my best friend Rachael went out on Saturday night to a club with the guy she is seeing Paul and some other friends. We were all very drunk. I ended up outside when the bouncers wouldn't let me back inside. So over the next few hours I called Rachael around 30 times to try to find out where she was but had no answer. After a few hours a found Paul outside and he didn't know where anyone was either so we waited outside the exit until everyone left but still couldn't find anyone we came there with. So we got a taxi to Rachaels flat to see if she was in and called her for the next half hour but still had no response. I had left my house keys in her flat so had no way of getting home. At this point I ended up staying at Paul's as I had no where else to go.
Now she says our friendship is over and that I betrayed her and showed no loyalty to her. Even though I literally had no where else to go and it was 4.30am
Amy opinion on this would be greatly appreciated even if you think I am completely in the wrong, I'd rather an honest answer

If you didn't sleep with Paul and just needed a place to crash for the night, I can't really see a reason for your friend to feel betrayed. Let alone ending the friendship over something so trivial. I'd suggest letting your friend cool off for a few days, and then contact her to ask why she is upset. If she is still adamant about the friendship being over, I'd say there is little you can do. If she is unable or unwilling to give a logical explanation for her feelings, there could be deeper issues you are unaware of.
Perhaps it's because Paul has shown not to be trusted in the past or she has insecurity issues. Either way, I don't think you did anything wrong.

Nothing happened between me and Paul, and I'm kind of hurt she thinks it may have. She says she doesn't care if we did or didnt do anything, it was the principle. She says it was weird and hurtful her best friend was sleeping in the same room as a guy shes intimate with.
